WHO? - WHAT? - WHEN? - WHERE?

When someone visits your website there is a lot of information available at your disposal.

You can find out what keywords the visitor used in which search engine, what their IP address is, who their internet provider is, what page they were on before they clicked a link to your page, if they have visited before .... all useful information to enable you to know how you are performing, and how your website might benefit from optimisation.

I have devised a simple add-on program that does it for you, and gives you a log file that you can access.

Many hosting companies provide this information in log files, and so you might not need my program, but for those who don't have such a facility, it is available to all my customers.

Spying on us!

This use of log files to get information about your visitors does not come under the heading of spying.  It is information that is readily available and all I do is put it into a form that is easy to read.

However, there is a different kind of spying that is a serious threat to all internet users.  You ISP might be giving away all of your internet activity information to a marketing organisation 'Phorm'.
